Best Shot Monday – Old Barns

I have a friend who loves pictures of old barns. (It’s Paula. Hi Paula! She doesn’t have a blog, but this is a test to see if she’s reading.) Whenever I see one I take a picture for her.

How many people do you think still build barns like this anymore? Wood that ages to a beautiful color, a tin roof that rusts to a deep red, doors that sag on creaky hinges.

There are a few scattered throughout our small town and this one is in my aunt’s yard. One afternoon I went and borrowed her barn for a few pictures. Are you lucky enough to have one on your property?

If you are you might be able to get some rustic, fun pictures like this:

(There’s something that bugs me in every photograph I take of my kids and in this one it is the Converse tennis shoes-clown shoes. I looked and looked for his boots that day and couldn’t find them. The bright red tennis shoe looks so out of place to me.)

Because you never know what fun things lurk in an old barn.
