I can’t do it all

kitchen

Yesterday my kitchen looked like this. I was making lasagna and laundry detergent. I sure hope I didn’t mix up any ingredients. Just kidding. The lasagna tasted fine. Can you taste borax?

And while I destroyed my kitchen cooking soap and meat sauce, the rest of my house fell apart too.

I cannot do it all. Seriously, I can’t even do half of it.

Homeschooling, making soap, making supper, that was about it.

Here are a few other things I’d like to accomplish each day:

–1 load of laundry, washed, folded and put away

–a little time training the puppies

–Bible reading

–outdoor exercise (well, not really. maybe if it’s warm)

–a picked up and tidy house

–more practice taking photos

–more time reading aloud with the kids

–one deep cleaning job each day

–going to bed with a really clean kitchen

–more smiling, less yelling

It seems like I can do about 3, maybe 4 of these things each day and the rest gets put off till another day.

What things make you feel like you’ve accomplished something each day?

This is my world. Funny thing is I made lasagna and laundry detergent this week! lol.
After feeling as if I was lossing the war of keeping it all together I thought I woul djust simplify my list. I got rid of SO much! More things in this house means more things for me to clean up. More things for me to rake care of. Two truck and trailer loads later Im feeling like the momma that has got it all together. Yeah I know its just for now, but I may as well feel this way while I can, right! My list of feeling as if I have accomplished something would be ~ Homeschooling k and 3rd grade along with a toddler ~Cleaning up on the kitchen and living area. ~ Cooking and as you said the rest I do here and there as I can~ Happy to know Im not alone> Great real post!

I want it to be a place where we can all just be real and share things we want to get done. Here is a link to the post with more info, would love to have you link up!

I like the title of this post, that and the picture says it all! I guess the thing that helps the most at our house is to have a clean dining table and kitchen counters, it's open and you see it all when you walk into the house.

I have 2 boys so toilets without pee on them feels pretty darn accomplished in my world.

I also have a thing about beds being made and kitchen counters and table being cleaned off.

Floors, vanities, and tubs are sorely neglected in my house.

We are taking a break from school for a while so that's one less worry. But when school is in session Math, English, and a little reading make me feel accomplished…everything else is bonus. :-)

But you are right…we cannot do it all. And it is nice to be reminded. :-)

Here it is a year(nearly) after you posted this and it is no accident that I just “happened” to click on it this morning. I’m a homeschooling mom of two boys who would really, really like to adopt another child(or two). But it feels like there are not enough hours in the day, let alone enough energy, to handle what I’ve already got in front of me. I’m not at all happy to see others struggle. Just glad to see that I’m not the only one :)
