Water

I told you that I’ve been avoiding the pool this year. I figure it will be at least 6 years before I can relax comfortably in a pool again. Milo can finally touch the bottom and he is turning 6 in September. Swimming with a toddler is more stress/ less enjoyment for me right now.

She doesn’t like the water much.

She prefers to hang precariously on the ladder, causing the girls to scream, “MOM! She’s about to fall in.” It’s hard to relax at the pool with hysterical overprotective big sisters.

They finally coaxed her in.

And took turns swimming her around. Meanwhile Milo showed me all he’d learned this year. How to jump in and go under water, how to float on his back.

Mr. Darcy thought the water looked very tempting.

This dog actually enjoys a bath. I can spray him down with the hose outside and wash him without even holding onto him.

After 10 minutes in the water, Tess felt she’d experienced it to the fullest. She was out again trying to fall off the ladder.

It’s not even worth putting on a swimsuit. We were back inside in dry clothes within 20 minutes.

Maybe next year.

My girl, around the same age, thinks she can swim.Which is equally stressful for me.At a fourth of July party she wanted to be on her tummy in the water while she moved her arms and kicked her feet.Oh my.

Aren't your older girls sweethearts for swimming her around in the pool for you!?! I remember when Little Buddy was about her age and he LOVED the pool. So much so that I was always a nervous wreck he would just jump right in without waiting for me.

Look how cute Milo looks getting ready to show you his new stuff in the pool!

they have been so excited to get her in the pool. i'm sure if they had to

don't you want to squeeze them? my favorite part of the swimsuit is that her
buns hang out just a little.

Gotcha. I thought the stress was just over keeping her safe and letting her play. Different ballgame.

Oh, I am so right there with you. My three-year-old is afraid of the water, but still insists on gearing up and 'trying to slip down the stairs' the entire time. Meanwhile, the toddler (21-months) is a no-fear daredevil, which is actually a little more frightening for ME! My hands are LITERALLY full at the pool. It's exhausting…
