Love/hate relationships

sharpie

1. I love these Sharpie pens. I love them so much they are the only pen I want to write with. I hate that they disappear. It makes me wish they had a shocker built in so I could shock anyone who picked it up. That sounds kind of mean, doesn’t it? Ok, maybe not a shocker, but a loud voice that would say, “Put the pen down. It does not belong to you!”

red quilt

2. I love this colorful quilt I got this weekend at a yard sale. It has beautiful colors and it goes perfectly in Milo’s and Tess’s room. One can have a cowboy quilt and the other this girly paisley quilt. I hope Milo wants the cowboy one. I hate that I have 4 million (now 4 million and 1) blankets/quilts and I find it impossible to part with them. What’s wrong with me?

ipod

3. I love my ipod. Love, love it. It gets me to sleep at night, helps me stay awake during long, boring drives, and holds lots of books. However, I hate how earbuds simply do not last. I go through probably a pair a month. Frustrating!

maxi dress

4. I love this maxi dress. It’s my costume this week at VBS. It makes me look like an Egyptian and it’s super comfortable. But, I hate that it makes me look 4 months pregnant.

blackberry

5. I love my blackberry. I love texting. I hate that half my keys no longer work due to unfortunate circumstances. What I meant to say in this text is, “Want to come over?” So, if you get a strange looking text from me, just try to imagine what it might say if it had more letters in it.

bangs

6. I hate my bangs. I want to pin them back with bobby pins every day because I can’t stand them dripping in my eyes, tickling my face and being generally annoying. But, bangs are a necessity, a trial I have to endure. I love that I have hair. I hate that it is annoying.

Do you have any love/hate relationships going on in your life?

I want to know what planner that is that you are using and do you like it and could I find one too? I love my laptop but hate that I am slightly addicted to it.

    it came from walmart.

I have many love/hate relationships going on right now. Public school is one of them. There's too much to say to get into it here, but I definitely love it and hate it at the same time!

I bought some of those sharpie pens the other day and haven't tried them yet. I'm thinking I will love them. And I agree on the earbuds. I've thrown many away, yet we still have too many.

The quilt is beautiful. I'm on the lookout for some cute bedding since I'll have a boy and girl sharing for a while.

I know!! The new Sharpie!! I just restocked at Walmart today because I bought a pack LAST WEEK and they have disappeared already. I'm in love with this pen! Wish I could find it in every color under the rainbow. PS – Walmart has 2 packs on sale for 2.50!

I do the same thing with blankets! I have some in a cedar chest, MANY in the linen closet and a huge pile by the fireplace. Sad but glad to know it isn't just me. I can't part with any unless they are ruined.

Okay, this whole post made me laugh, but especially the part about your hair. I, too, hate my hair often – but I should remember to at least love the fact that I HAVE hair! :)

    I have a love/hate relationship with the gym. :)
On a random note… I love that quilt. I have never found a beautiful quilt like that at a yard sale. Of course I do live in Southern California… ya, that might be why.
Been reading your blog for a while. Thought I would leave a comment this time.

i would hate the gym too if i ever went.

I have a love / hate relationship with laundry….I love that I have clean clothes to wear but hate doing laundry. Also, exercise…..

I read your blog daily, thanks for sharing.

I love the Sharpie pens too but hate how they don't write well on every surface, especially glossy-ish paper.

I love that quilt and hate that the only thing we can get at yard sales around here are mauve castoffs that even grandma wouldn't want to keep. There is nothing wrong with you wanting to keep so many quilts and blankets! Just look at them as family heirlooms.

I love those pens, too. I hate that I don't have more of them and can't always find them when I want them.

I love iTunes for all the music, books, podcasts, etc. that I can get, but I hate that their stupid home share program doesn't work very well; that I spend money on things from them but can't get them later.

I love watching things like Good Eats, MythBusters, and White Collar because we have DirecTV, but I hate paying for all those channels that suck my guys in ad nauseum.

I love FB, blogs, and twitter, but hate the way they suck my time away.

  • Rachel

    I love your blog.
I hate that I can't tear myself away from the computer.
    I love my used-to-be-small-feet-before-I-had-babies.
I hate my extra fluff due to having babies (but trying to embrace it because it gave me those sweet babies).

On another note… why do you love your Blackberry? We're getting new phones soon and I can put in for a certain one and see if the powers that be (ahem… I mean my dh) would agree.

  • http://afamiliarpath.com/ Melissa Stover

i love my blackberry because of how easy it is to text. i don't have
internet service on it. i got my blackberry second hand. so, if you're
getting one for internet, you might want to ask someone else.

I love coffee. I hate having to fix it.

    I love cake.

    I love cookies.

    I love ice cream.

I can't really think of any reason I would hate those things. *snort*

Soooo, is that an invitation? Ya want us to come over?

  • sandy toe

That quilt is just amazing…I love the colors in it!! Wow..a garage sale!

    Never find things like that!

I love that you replied to my question.
I hate that we still really have to get new cell phones (worrying about if they will work and being stuck to the contract!).

We're getting the cell phone to be able to call people…. I actually don't even have texting ability now… am I really ancient? So I doubt we'll get internet service on it. We're trying to majorly cut bills and save moolah to be able to buy a little land so we have to cut where ever we can.

  • http://afamiliarpath.com/ Melissa Stover

yes please. when you return form your trip i want you to come over and tell
    me all about it.

  • Molly

The colors of your YS (yard sale) quilt are fabulous. It's really pretty and makes me wish I too had yet another quilt to admire!

Hmmm, I love a perfectly crafted cup of chai tea. Trust me, there are about 50 Starbucks in my area and would you believe only a handful know how to make it the way I like it? I hate laundry, actually despise is a better word. I honestly think I've been cursed somehow because no matter how much laundry I do, it grows! How is that possible. Anyhow, I love British Jane Austen movies. And 80's movies too! I hate my bangs as well (they really do poke me in the eyes all day long) but goodness, I've had them since I was a pre-teen and now they're like my safety blanket. I cannot live without them! I hate when people blow their nose at the dinner table, lol! My father in law does it all the time and he has sinus issues and well, it's pretty juicy sounding when he blows to be honest, yuck! I love being organized and hate that I have such a hard time actually accomplishing it. I suppose homeschooling 3 kids adds to my desire to be organized but honey, it just ain't happening! I think my family needs to stage an intervention or something or perhaps at the very least hire someone to clean my house regulary.

Oh, and I love sharpies as well and have been known (blush) to yell rather loudly when one goes missing. I can't help it, they write sooooo smoothly and I love a good pen!

  • Probablytracy

I bought a pair of ear phones that were $30. (Panasonic), they fit in my ears (soft) and are the best $ I ever spent!

    LOVE the quilt!

  • http://www.neweveryam.blogspot.com Neweveryam

Ooooh! I'm all about a good pen. I haven't tried these Sharpies yet, so thanks for the heads up! All of the pens at our house have legs too. Sigh.

I'm with you on the blanket thing. I love to change bedding, but I can't bring myself to part with the old ones. They do make good picnic blankets, though. :)

Im a new follower…I found your blog from Kelly’s Korner. I too have an obsession with blankets, but mine is with fleece blankets. There is no telling how many I have and my mom still gets me one every year for Christmas and I dont think I could part with any of them. ~Megan @ StoriesfromMeg.blogspot.com
