We went to the splash pad yesterday and met up with Ruthanne and her kids. The big last day of August fun wore me out so much I didn’t even get my pictures downloaded until the first day of September.
Later, after I was home and the baby was finally asleep, I asked my husband, “Why do you think a day out like this wears me out so bad. Is it because I’m too lazy or we have too many kids.”
“We have too many kids,” he said.
Maybe it was a mix of going to bed at 3 am, getting up at 9 am and driving over an hour then trying to keep my eye on one busy 20 month old and one excited 6 year old. It wouldn’t have anything at all to do with MY age. I’m sure of it.
Because Ruthanne is younger than I am and she claimed to be just as tired.
I was thinking yesterday how glad I was that we met up at the Pioneer Woman book signing. Otherwise, I might not have gotten to know this really fun, curly-headed gal and I would have missed out on so many laughs and so much fun.
And, our kids get along really well too. Icing on the cake.
Here she is giving me the finger orders. “Do not take my picture!”
She tried to hide behind her big, beautiful camera purse.
But I finally got her.
It’s not like she hadn’t had her own camera in my face all day. Right, Ruthanne?
