Yay for sunflowers

I’m working on part two of the sunflower day to put up on my photography blog. Look for it this week. We had the opportunity to go to a huge field of sunflowers, but it was so darn hot! We almost withered away. I had to buy a good bit of ice cream afterwards for rewards and cooling off.

We took Hazel. I wanted a really good picture of my kids with the dog, and I think I got what I wanted. She only vomited once. I always manage to get car sick dogs. I gave her a bath before hand and tied the pretty blue bandana around her neck. She was looking cute.

She did great too.

Ya’ll tonight I tried to run my week 3 (the 3 minutes at a time) and I almost died. I had to quit early. Yes, it’s hot, but still I feel like a wimp. I had to call Ruthanne for a pep talk. I’m not giving up, but I’m not sure I’ll ever make it to five minutes. I’m doing the entire week 3 over again until I can easily run 3 minutes. No one says I have to run a five k in six weeks. I’ve got all the time in the world to do this. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself.

I ordered new shoes last week. I can’t wait to get them in and see how they feel. I’ve been running in my six year old New Balance shoes.

Now if it would just rain, or cool down a little. I think I could master running 3 minutes at a time.

How was your weekend?

    what shoes did you get?

car sick dogs and high heat- yuck!

my weekend was filled with hiking and swimming and company visiting. 2 months away from home and we have the brilliant idea to bring people back with us. a house can get awfully dusty and the fridge is completely empty after 2 months. not to mention jetlag from flying all that way. but we had an exhaustingly fun time and now i am glad to unpack our suitcases and settle in to a semi-normal routine… which includes catching up with you. :)
