Why I’ll never be a real runner

Photo

1. I usually take the easy way out. If I get really tired I will give myself permission to quit early or walk.

2. It’s never important enough for me to get up early and get it done first (is anything?)

3. I can’t run a full 5 minutes even after all this time (since when, April?)

4. I’m not competitive enough to care if I ever finish, or get fast, or run in a 5K.

5. I’d rather be reading.

Stop it. You’re going to do a 5K with me. Even if we walk it!

Kindred spirit. While working on the about page of one of my blogs today, I mentioned that I enjoyed exercising my creative muscles… it was all I could do to resist typing “and that’s about all I enjoy exercising…” I know I NEED to, but I really don’t like it. Sign.

funny thing. today…..I decided to stop being a real runner. I ran for 3 years. now. just like yoga. running long distance makes me high strung. so it really feels weird to admit I hardly run anymore.

I can’t even allow myself to quit running to walk because I never start running in the first place. You are leaps and bounds ahead of me!
