Come in, have some tea

Thank you so much for commenting on my last post and welcoming me back, so to speak. Your words are good encouragement to keep plugging along.

I’ve written before about how the seasons of childhood seem to be coming around again with my youngest. Before Christmas I repainted my older girls’ old kitchen set and got it ready for my 4 year old. She got a tea set for her birthday and some cooking things for Christmas. They have all enjoyed playing with her and I love seeing those things put to use again. What would I do without the youngest to bring back all those memories and revive our imaginations?

I would offer you all a cup of tea or coffee while you’re here, but I don’t drink either so I never have them on hand.

I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you about the birthday girl’s cake. We picked it out from a picture on the internet months ago. Using my inspiration picture, I crafted a cake very similar to what she wanted. I hope you can see the resemblance. Some day my kids will realize my cake making skills are not up to par and stop requesting home made cakes.

(Mine’s the one on the right in case you were confused.)

Until then I’ll keep executing these caketastrophes for your enjoyment and mine. I laughed so hard when I finished this one.

I really enjoy reading your blog. Especially posts about homeschooling. We are starting our journey next week and I really love your style and have learned a lot from reading your old posts. Keep it up!

I love reading your blog and feel like you have an awful lot in common with me – or me with you:) Even down to the cakes – only I have now tricked my kids into decorating their own so I am no longer responsible for the not so picture perfect masterpieces:) I don’t usually comments on blogs but wanted to let you know that I am glad you are continuing to write and share yourself through your blog!
