So I’m day 4 into 31 days 1000 words over on my other blog and can you believe I’m enjoying it? I know day 4 is not day 15 and by day 15 I’ll probably be all I Quit! But days 5, 6 and 7 are looking good.
I was cleaning like a mad woman tonight (Bible study at my house this weekend) and as I was cleaning I was thinking of all the 31 day series I have no business at all writing.
Like 31 days to a cleaner house. That would by so over by day 2. I am amazed and appalled by the amount of clutter we accumulate. And I have met one more person who never has dishes in her sink and I am deeply convicted about my dirty sink. But not enough to change.
Or 31 days to becoming a runner. I could almost write that. Not quite. I am on the verge of claiming that I enjoy running. O n t h e v e r g e. I don’t hate every second of it anymore. I look forward to my runs, and #1 best thing about it, I’ve found some friends to run with which makes it oh so much more delightful.
There are actually quite a few family members, friends, and church members around me who run, but there are just no good running places in my area. A very busy highway, busy dog chasing roads, and no lighted areas all have kept me running anywhere except around my own 14 acres, around and around. But now I’m driving once or twice a week to meet friends and it’s going well.
Naturally when I’m with a friend I run the full 3 miles (walk/run) because I’m not as tempted to quit as I am when it’s just me. I can so easily talk myself into just two miles. I’m a complete pushover. (Just watch me talk myself out of doing dishes tonight).
But writing about it for 31 days would be impossible. Because that’s all I had to say. Right there.
31 days to loving Mad Men? I just thought of that one right now and I might could swing it.
31 days to organizing your life? Impossible.
31 days to turning your kids into cooking and cleaning slaves? SOMEONE should totally write that one. I would read it.
What 31 day series would you love to read?
